WE HAVE CAMP SPOTS FOR CAMPERS AGES 11-18 IN OUR NEW SESSION JULY 7-12TH!We were very surprised at the tremendous volume of applications we received this year. With over 120 girls on the wait list we have decided to run an additional session of Summer Camp along side our Rock Camp Studio program. This new session of Camp will have the same programing as our other sessions. If you received an orange invitation to attend this session with your wait list letter please contact us by mail or email asap so we can reserve your spot! There are currently 3 spots left as of 6/24/08. It has always been our goal to not have to turn away any campers. We will continue our efforts to ensure each girls who wishes to attend our programs can. An intensive one week day camp in Portland, Oregon for girls ages 8-18, campers of all skill levels learn guitar, drums, keyboards, bass, vocals, or DJing, form a band, write a song, and perform at the end of week sold out Showcase for friends, family, and hundreds of screaming fans. Is there space available?To check on space in all sessions check out the to the chart on the right side of this web page.Who is it?Women musicians, camp counselors, interns, and volunteers come together with campers from around the world to put the amp in camp! How Much Is It?$375/camper. Limited financial aid is available. When is it?Session 1: June 23-28Session 2: July 21-26 Session 3: Aug 4-9 Can I Sign Up for Hip Hop Elements in Summer Camp?Yes, during session 3 of Summer Camp, we offer DJing, MCing, Break Dancing, and Beat Making/Producing.Do you have an over night camp?We do not. We are a day camp and do not provide room and board for our campers, but you can signify on you application that you are interesting in being hosted by another camper and their family. There is a non-refundable $10 application fee for each application.
Applications submitted without an application fee will be considered
incomplete. Send your Express Yourself Piece to our P.O. Box. You must send us an
express yourself piece to have a complete application (please so faxes or
emails, you may hand deliver your piece) Make sure you have filled out the application correctly and fully. We
can only process the info you provide in your application.
I enrolled online but didn't send an express yourself piece. Will my application get processed?No. We will only process application that are complete. A complete application consists of three parts; the program application, a non-refundable $10 application fee and an express yourself piece created by the intended camper. What is an Express Yourself Piece?Express Yourself!Please tell us about yourself, and why you want to attend the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls Summer Camp. You can: write a letter, draw a picture, make a collage, make a video, record or write a song or poem, or anything you like. We want to know why you want to participate, who you are, what music means to you, and anything else you'd like us to know. Express Yourself Pieces may not be returned to you, so send us something we can keep! We must have a hard copy of your piece sent to our P.O. Box (no emails or fax please).My Summer plans have changed and i need to switch sessions. Who do i

All requests to change session must be submitted by email to camp@girlsrockcamp.org or in writing to our PO box. Because of the large volume of applicants we can not guarantee we will be able to accommodate any change requests. I did not receive my first choice in instrument. Can i switch instruments?Due to the high volume of applications we receive each year it is very likely that there is not space available in the instrument group you requested. If you would like to make a formal request to switch you may, but we can not guarantee we will be able to accommodate any change requests. Tickets for the session's showcase go on sale the morning of the first day of camp. They can be purchased at the camp when you drop off your camper, or at the venue throughout the week. Why is it?Our mission is to help girls build self-esteem through music creation, performance, and workshops. We empower girls to be independent thinkers and develop life skills. As a supportive community of peers and mentors, we provide positive role models, hands-on experience, and access to technical and creative resources. Summer Camp classes, workshops, and events are designed to foster self-esteem and life skills development in every camper while having fun, creating music, and making friends.
