Register HERE for the 2017 LRC: Strings Retreat (October 13th – 15th)
Ladies Rock Camp (LRC) is a weekend retreat in Portland, OR that provides an opportunity for women 21 and over to let loose for the weekend and create original music together. This fall we are offering an alternate program to our usual retreat – LRC: Strings Retreat a guitar/bass weekend intensive. You’ll learn instrumentation, TLC for your instrument, tuning, re-stringing, setting up amp’s and PA’s and much more!
*Choice of instruments: Beginner or Advanced Bass and Beginner or Advanced Guitar. There will be approximately 10 spots in each section. NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. You don’t have to bring your own instrument, but if you choose to please note Camp cannot accept liability for personal equipment and please label all your belongings well.
TUITION: New Sliding Scale Model
This session we are piloting a sliding scale tuition for LRC, a tool that can provide equitable access to skill-building and life-long learning opportunities, regardless of financial resources. This method of payment requires active participation and personal reflection on what makes sense for your family’s financial situation, and how you would like to support learning in the Rock N Roll Camp for Girls community. The is one way of acknowledging differences in wealth, income, costs, and privilege and actively addresses the economic disparities in our communities and society. RNRC4G is using this model as a way to say ‘no’ to the way things are and ‘yes’ to the way we believe things can be, while providing an excellent rock camp experience for all. We hope that this fee structure offers more awesome people the opportunity to engage in our community.
Utilizing the Active system for registration and payment offers you the option of making payments toward tuition, rather than needing to pay the full tuition up front. However, you are also welcome to mail in your tuition balance to Rock N Roll Camp for Girls at PO Box 11324 Portland Or 97211.
The tuition scale has been set at the absolute lowest amount possible for us to cover our costs and meet expected financial goals for our programs. If you can give more than the tuition or would like to sponsor another Ladies Rock Camper, we will gratefully accept your donation! While your tuition is not considered a donation, any amount beyond that is, and all donations are tax deductible. Whether you can give $5.00 or $500.00 above the full tuition amount ($400), every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated!
