sts

sts is a legendary force in the queer Portland scene. A drummer, zinester, and filmmaker, she currently holds the title of Program Director of the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls. A seasoned road veteran, she has been on more than 30 tours, criss crossing the United States 26 times playing drums and/or singing with many bands, and venturing to Europe, Brazil and Australia with The Haggard. She has created many zines along the way, including Way Down Low, an "almost fiction" zine of writing and comics. She also created many short films on the video label "Emilia Smokebomb".

sts has been involved in the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls since it's inception in 2000, when she played at the very first benefit show. After six years of volunteering as a drum instructor and fund raiser for the camp, she was offered a full time position as part of the Rock Camp executive leadership team (alongside Marisa Anderson and Winner Bell). sts has a small part in the documentary film "Girls Rock!" ( telling girls to play the drums like they're "killing something"), and has contributed writing and drawings to Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls, The Book.

Nobody knows what "sts" stands for, but she has offered to auction off the secret as a Rock Camp Benefit.
