2010 Conference Planning Underway!
Attention girls rock camp organizers
around the world!
Whether you are in your 5th year organizing
a girls rock camp, or you are planning to start one in your town, get ready
for the 4th annual GRCA conference! This year's conference will be held in
the Bay Area, California in March 2010.
GRCA conferences
provide networking, training, workshop and skill sharing opportunities for
GRCA affiliate camp organizers who have completed the application process
for this program.
Due to limited space and resources, GRCA
conferences are only open to mentors organizing and operating, or planning
to organize/operate at least one session of a girls rock camp Summer Camp
program that is affilated with the GRCA.

About GRCA
An International Coalition
With so many girls rock camps and girls
music projects underway around the world, the time has come for these
programs to unite and create a standard of value to preserve the nature
and spirit of programs that seek to build self-esteem for girls through
music education, as well as provide training to the volunteers and staff
who bring the missions of their organizations to life. GRCA is currently
located in Portland, Oregon as a program of the Portland Rock 'n' Roll
Camp for Girls.
Statement of purpose
GRCA provides
resources and networking opportunities for its affiliate camps, and
promotes the establishment of like-minded institutions worldwide.
Mission
The Girls Rock Camp Alliance is an international coalition
of organizations whose shared mission is to empower girls and women using
the tools of music education to foster self-esteem and confidence. To
this end, the GRCA promotes, strengthens, and expands services provided by
its affiliated camps.

About Previous Conferences
We have grown from 7 affiliates in 2006 to 20 affilated girls rock camp
non profit organizations in 2009. We attribute this awesome success in
not only starting but sustaining and maintaining new camps to the amazing
supportive community we have created through our annual conferences!
2009 Girls Rock Camp Organizers Conference
53 mentors from 20 Rock Camps over 3 countries, went to Wimberly, Texas
and attended 38 workshops, swam in a river, and played at least 2 epic
games of multiball!
